Wilderness Way in Cardiff is seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to help children thrive in a safe, nurturing home environment. You will build trusting relationships, support education and wellbeing, and guide young people through daily life with patience and resilience.

Senior roles offer mentoring and progression opportunities. A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is funded, and we value commitment, driving licence, and eligibility to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals across care, education or youth work.
• Willingness to pursue Level 3 qualification if not held.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and hold a full UK driving licence.
• Ability to lead by example and support a team.

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children.
• Create a safe, structured and nurturing home environment.
• Support children with education, health and wellbeing.
• Encourage independence, confidence and resilience.
• Help children access new experiences and opportunities.
• Support children to express their wishes, feelings and aspirations.
• Use trauma-informed approaches to support emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate with Managers, Therapists and Multidisciplinary Teams to help children achieve positive outcomes.
