Job summary

Wilderness Way is hiring a Residential Support Worker to help children feel safe, valued and supported. You will work across our homes to provide stable, nurturing care, helping with education, health and daily activities while building trust and resilience in the young people you support.

Senior roles offer mentorship and opportunities to guide colleagues. A Level 3 qualification is encouraged, and a driving licence is preferred to enable access to activities and transport for the children.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals in care, education or youth work.
• Positive, resilient attitude and ability to mentor others.
• Willingness to work toward a Level 3 qualification if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children.
• Create a safe, structured, nurturing home environment.
• Support education, health and wellbeing for the children.
• Encourage independence, confidence and resilience.
• Help children access new experiences and opportunities.
• Support children to express their wishes, feelings and aspirations.
• Work with Managers, Therapists and Multidisciplinary Teams to achieve positive outcomes.
