Job summary

Wilderness Way in the United Kingdom seeks a Residential Support Worker to help children thrive in a safe, nurturing home. You will build trusting relationships, support education and wellbeing, promote independence, and work with care teams to drive positive outcomes for young people.

Roles involve collaboration with managers, therapists and outdoor specialists, with opportunities for progression to Senior Residential Support Worker and mentorship. All positions include Safer Recruitment checks.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping children.
• Willingness to work towards a Level 3 qualification if you don't already hold one.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children.
• Create a safe, structured and nurturing home environment.
• Support children with education, health and wellbeing.
• Encourage independence, confidence and resilience.
• Help children access new experiences and opportunities.
• Support children to express their wishes and feelings.
• Use trauma-informed approaches to support emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate with Managers, Therapists and multi-disciplinary teams to help children achieve positive outcomes.
