Job summary

Wilderness Way in the United Kingdom seeks a dedicated Residential Support Worker to help children feel safe, valued and hopeful about their future. You'll build trusted relationships, provide a stable home environment and support education, health and wellbeing while promoting independence and resilience.

Opportunities exist for Senior Residential Support Worker roles; comprehensive induction and progression paths are offered, along with funded Level 3 Diploma and a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals.
• Positive and resilient approach.
• Strong communication skills and genuine passion for helping children.
• Willingness to work towards Level 3 qualification.
• Must be 21 or over due to requirements in children's residential care.
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children.
• Create a safe, structured and nurturing home environment.
• Support children with education, health and wellbeing.
• Encourage independence, confidence and resilience.
• Help children access new experiences and opportunities.
• Support children to express their wishes, feelings and aspirations.
• Use trauma-informed approaches to support emotional wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with Managers, Therapists, Outdoor Specialists and Multi-Disciplinary Teams to help children achieve positive outcomes.
