Job summary

Wilderness Way in the United Kingdom seeks a Residential Support Worker to transform lives in our children's homes. You will support education, health and wellbeing, and help create a safe, nurturing environment for young people.

Applicants from residential childcare, education, care or youth work are welcome. Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is preferred; driving licence is required; 21+ is needed due to role requirements. Sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals in care, education or youth work.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work toward Level 3 qualification if not held.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children.
• Create a safe, structured and nurturing home environment.
• Support children with education, health and wellbeing.
• Encourage independence, confidence and resilience.
• Help children access new experiences and opportunities.
• Support children to express their wishes, feelings and aspirations.
• Use trauma-informed approaches to support emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate with Managers, Therapists and MDTs to achieve positive outcomes.
