Job summary

Wilderness Way in the United Kingdom is hiring Residential Support Workers to help children build trust, resilience and essential life skills in a safe, structured home.

You will lead by example, support education, health and wellbeing, and collaborate with Therapists, Managers and other professionals to help children achieve positive outcomes. Roles include progression to Senior level and a funded Level 3 Diploma.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or vulnerable individuals in care, education or youth work.
• Willingness to pursue Level 3 qualification if not held already.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children.
• Create a safe, structured and nurturing home environment.
• Support children with education, health and wellbeing.
• Encourage independence, confidence and resilience.
• Help children access new experiences and opportunities.
• Support children to express wishes, feelings and aspirations.
• Use trauma-informed approaches to support emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate with Managers, Therapists, Outdoor Specialists and MDTs to achieve positive outcomes.
