Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd is seeking an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and additional SEND in a specialist setting. You will work within small classes, delivering targeted interventions and 1:1 support to EHCP-linked outcomes.

The role requires resilience, a trauma-informed approach and collaborative working with teachers, pastoral leads and external professionals to monitor progress and promote emotional wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience working with SEND and/or SEMH pupils.
• Understands trauma-informed and relational practice.
• Can calmly support behaviour in a consistent manner while remaining reflective.
• Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across a specialist classroom environment.
• Deliver targeted interventions and structured programmes.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support aligned to EHCP outcomes.
• Use restorative and trauma-informed approaches to support behaviour.
• Promote emotional regulation and positive engagement.
• Work closely with teachers, pastoral leads and external professionals.
• Contribute to progress monitoring and review meetings.
