Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd is seeking an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and additional SEND in a specialist setting. You will work within small classes, delivering targeted interventions and 1:1 support to EHCP-linked outcomes.

The role requires resilience, a trauma-informed approach and collaborative working with teachers, pastoral leads and external professionals to monitor progress and promote emotional wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with SEND and/or SEMH pupils.
  • Understands trauma-informed and relational practice.
  • Can calmly support behaviour in a consistent manner while remaining reflective.
  • Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Job description

Are you an experienced and resilient Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact in specialist education?

We are seeking a committed and compassionate TA to join our dedicated team supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and additional SEND. Our learners have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and benefit from highly personalised, relationship-led provision.

The Role

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will:

This is a hands‑on, dynamic role requiring emotional resilience, professional boundaries and a genuine passion for inclusion.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:
  • Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Has experience working with SEND and/or SEMH pupils
  • Understands trauma‑informed and relational practice
  • Can confidently support behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
  • Is reflective, adaptable and solution‑focused
  • Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Experience in specialist schools, alternative provision, PRUs or therapeutic settings is highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
