Job summary

Compass Community Schools in England is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with SEMH and SEND. You will assist teachers in class, support 1:1 and small groups, and help manage learning resources and in-class activities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting multiple students with diverse needs (SEMH/SEND).
• Ability to manage classroom resources and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Willingness to participate in therapy-informed approaches and reflect on practice.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in the classroom.
• Work with children 1:1 or in small groups.
• Manage classroom resources and materials.
• Take children on trips and visits.
• Have lunch with children who struggle socially.
• Support in managing behaviours and keeping children safe.
• Engage in activities like board games and science experiments.
• Create displays and celebrate student successes.
• Be involved in therapy sessions or reflections on difficult periods.
