Job summary

Randstad Care is hiring a Children's Residential Support Worker for crisis and emergency placements in Birmingham. You will provide immediate, short-term residential care to children entering care in emergency circumstances, helping to stabilise them and build a safe, structured environment.

The role requires resilience, trauma-informed care, and flexibility to cover day shifts, nights, weekends, and sleep-ins, with a full UK driving license preferred.

Qualifications

• Resilience and empathy to support children in crisis.
• Previous UK experience with vulnerable children or residential settings.
• Full enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Immediate Stabilisation: high-calibre daily care for children entering emergency placements.
• Building Trust: establish fast, meaningful relationships with young people in acute crises.
• Safety & De-escalation: manage behaviours using proactive techniques.
• Daily Support: assist with meals, education needs, and personal goals.
• Multi-Agency Liaison: work with social workers, emergency services, and health providers.
