Job summary

Randstad Care is seeking a Children's Residential Support Worker for crisis and emergency placements in Stoke and surrounding areas. You will provide immediate, short-term residential care to children entering care under emergency circumstances, offering a warm, safe environment and emotional containment during critical transitions.

Qualifications

• Experience of paid UK work with vulnerable children or in complex residential settings.
• Full enhanced DBS via the update service.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and overnight sleep-ins.

Responsibilities

• Immediate stabilisation and trauma-informed daily care for children entering emergency placements.
• Build fast trust and professional relationships with young people in acute crises.
• Ensure safety and de-escalation using proactive techniques.
• Provide daily support including meals, routines, and education.
• Coordinate with social workers, emergency services and health providers and maintain records.
