Job Description:

Our successful Hull branch is looking for an energetic, innovative, and dynamic Transport Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the transport department. Previous HGV experience is essential.
• Manage a team of drivers and vehicles to ensure effective delivery of building supplies, plumbing, and heating products.
• Handle dispatching, routing, and tracking of delivery vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with all transport policies, legislation, and procedures, including tachographs.
• Develop and monitor a team of drivers.
• Participate in strategic development and process improvements.
• Ensure vehicles are properly maintained and serviced.
• Maintain accurate administrative records.
• Conduct staff appraisals and address disciplinary issues.
• Manage health and safety of the fleet.
• Liaise with yard and warehouse managers to coordinate product delivery.
• This role requires working 1 in 3 Saturday mornings.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience in the merchant industry is preferable.
• Excellent knowledge of local area for manual vehicle routing.
• Proven fleet management experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Successful track record in running a transport operation.
