Job summary

XPO TRANSPORT SOLUTIONS EUROPE is hiring a Transport Planner for our Aylesbury site, supporting Arla. This is a full-time, permanent role with Monday to Friday core hours, focusing on planning activities, route allocation, and cost-efficient subcontracting to ensure timely, safe deliveries.

You will manage outbound plans, drive KPI achievement, communicate with drivers and staff, and contribute to continuous improvement while adhering to WTD and tachograph rules.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced transport environments.
• Strong communication with stakeholders.
• Proficient in MS Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Control outbound plan to meet delivery times with accuracy.
• Achieve weekly/monthly KPIs set by the business.

Here at XPO, we take our people seriously. We're looking for a talented Transport Planner to join us on a full-time, permanent basis on our Aylesbury site for Arla. Working a typical Monday to Friday, core working hours, you'll support the planning activities, allocation of routes, and cost-effective sub-contracting for the site, ensuring our deliveries get out the door in a timely, safe, and compliant manner.

• We're looking to offer a salary of up to £30,000.

What you'll do on a typical day

• Control outbound plan, ensuring all drivers are scheduled to achieve contractual delivery times with a level of accuracy and professionalism.
• Achieve weekly and monthly KPIs as set by the business and/or Customer Service.
• Ensure appropriate communication methods are used to provide information to drivers and office staff related to the plan.
• Identify and highlight any potential improvement opportunities to management.
• Demonstrate the highest standards of customer service.
• Undertake relevant training events in line with personal development needs and business requirements.
• Perform general admin duties in line with transport legislation, company policies, and procedures including WTD, Tacho master updates.
• Ensure all drivers operate within legal parameters and follow tachograph laws.
• Deal with planning for permanent and agency drivers.
• Problem solve issues or queries regarding the plan and drivers.Maintain a strong attention to detail.
• Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Make competent decisions.
• Manage ASH daily using WTD calendar and Absence tracker.
• Monitor Agency PVA.
• Create and manage trend reports.

What you need to succeed at XPO

• Good understanding of fast-paced transport teams.
• Excellent communication skills, with regular interaction with stakeholders.
• Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook.
