Job summary

XPO Logistics in Swindon is seeking a Day Transport Coordinator to join our busy transport office. You will allocate drivers, vehicles and subcontractors to loads, plan backhauls, de-brief daily and manage PODs within SHARP, while maintaining orderly POD logs and handling customer queries.

You will be part of a dynamic team with a focus on accurate handovers, timely updates and proactive development of daily logistics operations within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a transport, logistics, or distribution office environment is preferred.
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks.
• Confident with transport systems and Microsoft Office (training provided).
• Good communication with drivers, subcontractors, customers and internal teams.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn wider transport and supervisory duties.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet daily deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Allocate drivers, vehicles, and subcontractors to loads once the transport plan is issued
• Plan and coordinate backhauls and customer collections where required
• De-brief drivers in SHARP on a daily basis
• De-brief subcontractor loads in SHARP once PODs are received
• De-brief night trunk operations daily
• Maintain and work through POD backlogs where applicable
• Keep the POD log up to date and chase outstanding PODs
• Check subcontractor PODs weekly and notify relevant stakeholders for PO raising
• Deal with customer delivery queries as they arise
• Send appropriate, timely and accurate handover information
• Carry out general office administration including filing, scanning, and document control

Here at XPO, we take our people seriously. We’re looking for a talented Day Transport Coordinator to join us on a full-time, permanent basis at our new Swindon site. Working Monday to Friday, although some flexibility is required to cover holidays.

Pay, Benefits And More
