Job summary

Veolia in Colwick is seeking a Transport Planner to plan and manage the routing for roll-on/roll-off and articulated fleets, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to daily schedules. The role focuses on on-time deliveries and compliance.

You will work alongside the Transport Manager to maintain fleet maintenance and support improvement projects, coordinating with recycling centres and maintenance providers. Proficiency in Google Suite is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous route planning and scheduling experience required.
• Excellent knowledge of local geography and counties.
• Experience dealing with drivers and customers.
• Proficient with Google Workspace tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage routing of RO/RO and articulated fleets to meet schedules and contractual obligations.
• Ensure vehicle defects are addressed promptly and in line with compliance.
• Work with Transport Manager to keep fleet maintenance up to date for Operator Licence.
• Lead or contribute to improvement projects within the business.
• Coordinate with recycling centres and transfer stations to ensure waste collection as planned.
• Liaise with vehicle maintenance providers to ensure Service/MOT schedules are met.

Salary: £27,810.00 per annum plus Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Colwick, NG4 2BA

What you'll be doing;

• Plan and manage the routing of both the roll-on/roll-off and articulated vehicle fleets to ensure efficient operations and adherence to daily schedules and contractual obligations
• Ensure all vehicle defects are addressed in a timely manner ensuring compliance.
• Alongside Transport Manager keep fleet maintenance up to date in line with requirements of the operators licence.
• Be involved in improvement projects in regards to changes within the business.
• Liaising with recycling centres and transfer stations to ensure all waste levels are collected as planned.
• Liaise with vehicle maintenance providers and maintenance personnel to ensure smooth running of the operation and adherence to Service/MOT schedules.

What we're looking for;

• Previous experience of route planning & scheduling essential
• Excellent geographical knowledge of Nottinghamshire and the surrounding counties.
• Experience of dealing with both drivers and customers.
• Computer literate including Google Suite.
