Job summary

Menzies Distribution Solutions is seeking an experienced Transport Operator in Scunthorpe to support the Transport Manager with transport administration. The role requires handling customer queries, preparing paperwork and data reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will work afternoon shifts from 14:00 to 22:00, 40 hours per week, with a focus on accuracy, timely communication and teamwork to improve stakeholder experience.

Qualifications

• Previous Transport experience
• Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Word & Excel)
• Previous administration experience
• Good numeric skills – including accuracy

Responsibilities

• Engage all external and internal customers by communicating in a friendly and professional manner.
• Answering and responding to all incoming calls in a prompt and polite manner.
• Ensure all queries or concerns are dealt with in a professional, friendly manner.
• Liaising with the management team to ensure smooth operation of the transport department.
• Ensure inbound/outbound paperwork is completed promptly and accurately.
• Monitor and chase documentation in support of the transport operation.
• Produce statistics as required.
• Undertake administrative and filing duties for the Transport Department.
• Handle customer orders with quality, accuracy and delivery timelines.
• Maintain a proactive customer and supplier relationship.
• Deal with customer and supplier enquiries and complaints from investigation to closure.
• Ensure work is accounted for and charging / auditable trails are in place.
• Support Continuous Improvement and data entry on internal systems.
