Job summary

Barking & Dagenham College is seeking an Apprenticeship Trainer Coach-Electrical to join the Apprenticeships team on a full-time, 36 hours per week, permanent basis. The role involves delivering and developing apprenticeship standards, monitoring apprentices to achieve positive outcomes, and supporting workplace learning across sites.

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification.
• Assessors award, Level 3 Electrical Installations qualifications.
• Level 2 English and Maths.
• Experience working with a training provider teaching/assessing apprentices.
• Teaching qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess Level 3 Electrical Installation apprentices in workplaces, carrying out progress reviews and portfolio workshops.
• Support curriculum design for relevant apprenticeship standards and work-related training.
• Assist development of planning and teaching resources including course outline, scheme of work, lesson plans and online resources.
• Coach apprentices in line with apprenticeship standards, core skills and work-related training.
• Visit and actively support apprentices within the workplace, monitoring progress.
• Complete and maintain all apprenticeship reports, assessment forms and other relevant documentation.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Apprenticeship Trainer Coach is part of the training and delivery team and is responsible for delivery, updating and development of apprenticeship standards and related training, monitoring and supporting apprentices to complete their training with positive outcomes.

You will:

• Assessing Level 3 Electrical Installation apprentices in their workplaces, carrying out progress reviews, and portfolio workshops on campus.
• Support the curriculum design for relevant apprenticeship standards and work related training within the curriculum area.
• Support the development of the relevant planning and teaching resources including course outline; scheme of work; lesson plans; learning resources including on line
• Coach apprentices in line with the apprenticeships standards, core skills and work related training.
• Visit and actively support apprentices within the workplace supporting their progress.
• Complete and maintain all apprenticeships reports, assessment forms, and other relevant documentation, as required.

What We’re Looking For

The Apprenticeship Trainer Coach-Electrical is responsible for supporting apprentices to complete their training with positive outcomes. This role includes visiting apprentices and employers in their workplaces, carrying out workplace observations, progress reviews, onboarding and preparing learners for their End Point Assessment.

You should have:

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification
• Assessors award, Level 3 Electrical Installations qualifications
• Level 2 English and Maths
• Experience working with a training provider teaching/assessing apprentices.
• It is desirable that the successful candidate will hold a Teaching qualification.
• Must hold Driving Licence due to the need to visit Apprentices on site.

In addition, you will demonstrate:

• Knowledge of the Level 3 Electrical Installation and Maintenance apprenticeship
• Ability to develop and maintain effective employer relations and identify opportunities for new and repeat business.
• Electrical industry experience and expertise in the relevant subject area .
• Experience of training/coaching in the relevant subject area.
• Good IT and administrative skills and be able to keep accurate tracking records of learners’ progress.
