Job summary

FM Conway is recruiting a Trainee Supervisor for its Aggregate and Asphalt division in Chelsfield. This full-time 12-month contract offers a pathway to permanent employment, with Monday–Friday, 07:30am–4:30pm shifts.

You will learn to run a busy recycling depot, support day and night teams, manage weighbridge tasks, and liaise with suppliers and engineers. The role requires a willingness to learn, a full UK driving licence, and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
• Be a team player with good verbal and written communication skills.
• Willing to learn and develop in a depot environment.
• Basic IT skills to handle daily admin tasks.

Responsibilities

• Quality control of materials to spot problems quickly.
• Support a day and night team across shifts.
• Learn the weighbridge operations and data entry.
• Organise payment to suppliers to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Assist the recycling manager with depot duties.
• Coordinate parts with suppliers, raise POs and arrange fitting on site.
• Work with engineers to organise depot maintenance.
• Produce end-of-month reporting and analyses.

Job description

FM Conway is looking to recruit a Trainee Supervisor to join the Aggregate and Asphalt division based in Chelsfield. As our Trainee Supervisor you will learn how to run a busy recycling depot from the current supervisor, ordering parts, supporting a day and night team, looking after the team of engineers, allocating payment to customers and being the face of a busy depot. This is a full-time position on a 12-month contract subject to permanent employment at the end of your contract, working Monday- Friday, 07:30am-4:30pm.

The duties of the Trainee Supervisor role will include:

• Quality control of materials being quick and efficient to spot a problem if one arises
• Support a team across day and night shifts
• Learn the role of the weighbridge
• Organise payment to suppliers to ensure they are paid correctly and on time
• Assist the recycling manager with duties within the depot
• Organising parts with suppliers, raising po’s and organising fitting when they have arrived on site
• Work closely with the team of engineers to organise maintenance across the depot
• End of month reporting

What skills and experience do you need?

We are looking for candidates who are willing to learn and hold a full UK driving license. To be considered for this role it is essential that you are a team player, with good verbal and written communication skills as well as IT skills.
