Job summary

FM Conway is expanding its Aggregate and Asphalt division with a brand-new plant in Wellingborough. The Plant Supervisor will operate the asphalt plant and weighbridge, supervise shifts, and coordinate multi-skilled teams to launch the new site from day one.

You will gain full induction across existing Southeast sites before the Midlands plant opens in 2027, joining a growing team focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience in asphalt plant manufacturing operating systems.
• Strong health and safety practices and legislation knowledge.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and motivating the operational team to achieve excellence and continual improvement in both quality and efficiency
• Managing stock levels of fuel, constituent and raw materials
• Ensuring mixing plans are carried out in an effective and cost‑effective manner
• Carrying out all weighbridge functions, including managing the daily delivery schedule and maintaining effective communication with team members to meet customer needs
• Reporting critical issues in a timely and accurate manner
• Generating task specific risk assessments and safe working practices
• Controlling and supervising contractors in line with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures

FM Conway is currently seekinga Plant Supervisorto join our Aggregate and Asphalt divisionandplay a key role in launching our brand-new asphalt manufacturing plant in Wellingborough.The Plant Supervisor will performa multi-skilledrolethat includesoperatingthe asphalt plant, mobile plant,andweighbridge functions, alongside coordinatingshiftsand supervising the site.This is a full time, permanent role.

With over 15 years’experience producing high-quality asphalt, FM Conwayoperatesseven successful asphalt plants across the South of England and is now expanding into the Midlands with our eighth site in Wellingborough. The successfulPlantSupervisorwill join a brand-new team andwill be crucial tosetting up the new plant, helping toestablishhighstandards, siteperformanceand operational success from the very beginning.

Joining ahead of the plant opening in 2027, you will initially work across our existing Southeast sites, receiving full training and structured induction support to understand our operationsandsystems.

By the time the new plant opens, you will be fully prepared tosupervisefrom day one and playan importantroleinestablishinga successful new production site.

The duties of the Plant Supervisor role will include:

What skills and experience do you need?

To be considered for our Plant Supervisor role, you must have experience with asphalt plant manufacturing operating systems. You will have a good understanding of health and safety practices and legislation, along with experience operating loading shovels,telehandlersand weighbridges. You will have a strong customer focus, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
