Job summary

FM Conway is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Bitumen division. The role is full-time and permanent, based at White House, Imperial Wharf, reporting to the Head of Major Projects Development.

You will manage projects from concept through completion, delivering on time, safely and within budget. Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors and third parties, prepare programmes and budgets, manage costs and risks, and ensure quality and compliance with CDM/SHEQ.

Job description

FM Conway is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Bitumen division. Reporting to the Head of Major Projects Development, you will manage a range of development, improvement and expansion projects from concept through to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to budget. This is a full time, permanent role based at White House, Imperial Wharf.

The duties of the Project Manager role will include:
  • Managing projects from concept through to completion
  • Coordinating internal teams, subcontractors, consultants and other third parties
  • Preparing project programmes, budgets and tender documentation
  • Managing project costs, risks, opportunities and scope
  • Monitoring project quality and performance
  • Managing structural surveys and developing action plans where required
  • Managing subcontractors and ensuring agreed standards are met
  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM, SHEQ policies and relevant legislation
  • Carrying out regular site visits and promoting a strong health and safety culture
  • Supporting performance management and team development
  • Promoting sustainability, innovation and continuous improvement
What skills and experience do you need?

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a background in the construction industry and proven experience managing projects through to completion. You will have strong planning, organisational, communication and commercial skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.

Experience in marine or wharf construction would be desirable, along with knowledge of project programming, contract management, stakeholder management and subcontractor management.

A construction related qualification, engineering degree, HNC, HND or equivalent would be advantageous. SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely would also be beneficial. A full UK driving licence is essential.
