Clarksons in Aberdeen is seeking a Trainee Agency Operator to join our port operations team. You will act as the central liaison for port authorities, ship owners and crews, handling ship's agency tasks while undergoing full training.

The role involves arranging crew, supplies, and port services, maintaining documentation, and ensuring safety compliance. The position requires a current UK driving license, strong organisation, and the ability to work outside standard hours on a rota.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence and clean record.
  • Highly organized with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Able to communicate with people at all levels.
  • Flexible and proactive, using initiative.
  • Ability to produce and maintain accurate paperwork.
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out ships agency and logistics duties with full training.
  • Prepare vessels for port operations per QA and in-house systems.
  • Communicate with principals, harbour authorities, and service providers.
  • Assist in cargo and vessel documentation and official formalities.
  • Update the in-house database accurately.
  • Board vessels moored at sea or dockside.
  • Arrange all husbandry requirements (stores, water, doctors, etc.).
  • Perform ad hoc duties and cover other UK offices as required.
  • Work a 37.5 hour week plus rota-based after-hours support.
