Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is hiring a Driver Technician Trainee to join our at‑home delivery team. You’ll be supported through a 3‑month trainee programme to become a fully qualified Customer Delivery Technician with a C1 driving licence, delivering and installing products at customers’ homes as part of a two‑person crew.

After training you’ll handle large items safely, maintain excellent customer service, and keep up to date with product knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles is preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills over the phone and in person.

Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and assist with loading deliveries in collaboration with warehouse.
• Handle home installations of products (TVs, appliances) and demonstrate use to customers.
• Deliver large items safely as part of a two-person team.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and technologies.
• Adhere to driving regulations and safety standards.
• Heavy lifting for items such as sofas, white goods, and beds.
