Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking a Driver Technician Trainee in the UK. You will complete a 3-month trainee programme to become a fully qualified Customer Delivery Technician with a C1 licence, joining a two-person delivery crew to install products at customers' homes.

You will deliver great service, follow safety rules, and adapt to a busy, customer-facing environment, including weekends and 6:00–17:00 shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
• Excellent verbal communication skills both over the phone and in person.
• UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Good understanding of technology and an interest in installation.

Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with exceptional customer service.
• Load your vehicle and assist with daily deliveries in collaboration with the warehouse.
• Respect customers’ homes and resolve issues to the best possible outcome.
• Install products (wall TVs, integrated appliances, hard-wired appliances) efficiently for customers.
• Keep up to date with new products and technologies to perform at your best.
• Adhere to driving regulations, including Working Time Directive and EU rules for safety.
• Role involves heavy lifting and delivering large items (sofas, white goods, furniture, beds).
