The role includes responsibilities such as coordinating emergency care calls, working with medical teams to ensure quality patient care, and participating in audits. Candidates with Welsh language skills are encouraged to apply. This position supports equality and diversity in recruiting.
The Cardiology ANPs at Glan Clwyd Hospital provide a high quality, comprehensive and innovative nurse led service for patients who experience Acute Coronary Syndromes.
They provide and facilitate timely care and interventions for patients experiencing Acute ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) or high‑risk Non‑ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (NSTEMI) for the whole of North Wales and complete the care with their 'Post Intervention Clinics'.
The team consists of six ANPs (F/T and P/T) who work very closely with all members of the Cardiology multi‑disciplinary team. They are a hospital‑based service providing inpatient care for patients presenting with an acute Cardiology condition and outpatient care for those attending the Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic. They provide expert advice and support to other clinical colleagues, particularly the Acute Medical Consultants and Cardiologists, and offer education, training and clinical expertise to Primary and Secondary care staff.
The post holder will be practising under supervision as a trainee advanced practitioner within cardiology. This will encompass the skills of assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout Cardiology services.
It is desirable for the successful candidate to be able to speak Welsh; both Welsh and English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
We are committed to promoting equality and diversity, and are proud to welcome applicants under the "Disability Confident Employer" scheme.
Applications submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.
