Job description

The Cardiology ANPs at Glan Clwyd Hospital provide a high quality, comprehensive and innovative nurse led service for patients who experience Acute Coronary Syndromes.

They provide and facilitate timely care and interventions for patients experiencing Acute ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) or high‑risk Non‑ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (NSTEMI) for the whole of North Wales and complete the care with their 'Post Intervention Clinics'.

The team consists of six ANPs (F/T and P/T) who work very closely with all members of the Cardiology multi‑disciplinary team. They are a hospital‑based service providing inpatient care for patients presenting with an acute Cardiology condition and outpatient care for those attending the Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic. They provide expert advice and support to other clinical colleagues, particularly the Acute Medical Consultants and Cardiologists, and offer education, training and clinical expertise to Primary and Secondary care staff.

The post holder will be practising under supervision as a trainee advanced practitioner within cardiology. This will encompass the skills of assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout Cardiology services.
