Job summary

Arriva is hiring a Trainee Bus Driver at our Durham depot. This role trains you to obtain and hold a PCV licence, with a structured 4-week training period followed by mentoring. The package includes a clear progression path, shifts, and a focus on community transport.

Starting pay is £13.70–£16.30 per hour with structured increases by tenure, plus benefits such as annual leave, an onsite gym, and future career opportunities within Arriva.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Have been driving for a minimum of 6 months.
• No more than 6 points on your licence.
• Will need to undergo a drug and alcohol test before assessment.
• Will need to pass an English comprehension test.

Responsibilities

• Drive buses and ensure passengers reach destinations safely and on time.
• Provide friendly, helpful service to commuters and school children.
• Maintain standard of customer care and assist with route information as needed.
• Work as part of a team to support depot operations and safety requirements.
