Job summary

Arriva TrainCare Blyth depot is hiring a Trainee Bus Driver. You will start with full paid training to obtain your PCV licence at the Arriva Training School, then work with a mentor as you begin driving on busy commuter routes.

The role provides a structured progression, a rotating 5-in-7 shift pattern with early starts, and opportunities for development within the company’s bus operations. Candidates should be 18+, hold a valid licence with up to 6 points and pass tests as required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Have held a driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Will undergo drug and alcohol test and English comprehension test.
• Full training to obtain PCV licence provided at Arriva Training School.

Responsibilities

• Drive a bus on assigned routes to support daily passenger services.
• Deliver friendly customer service and ensure passenger safety.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report faults as required.
