Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd in Airdrie is seeking an experienced HGV Trailer Technician to maintain, repair and modify the fleet of trailers. You will provide technical support from fault analysis through to completion.

The role requires in-depth knowledge of commercial vehicles and HGV trailers, with a City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair. A Class 1 licence is desirable but not essential; welding experience is a plus. Joining bonus £1,000 and overtime at 1.5x are offered.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV Trailer Technician with City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3.
• Desirable but not essential: HGV Class 1 licence.
• Experience with double deck trailers and welding is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, repairs and modification work on the fleet of HGV trailers.
• Undertake pre MOT checks and perform required repairs.
• Conduct QC tests and present trailers for MOT.

About your new company

My client is a fleet maintenance company with over 20 depots across the UK.

About your new HGV Trailer Technician role:

You will carry out maintenance, repairs and modification work on the fleet of HGV trailers and provide technical support from fault analysis through to competition.

You will be required to undertake pre MOT checks and undertake any repairs that are required.

You will be required to do QC tests and presenting trailers for MOT's

General Trailer Technician duties

The successful HGV Trailer Technician will require:

• You will have an in-depth knowledge of commercial vehicles and HGV trailers
• Hold an HGV licence Class 1 (desirable but not essential)
• Be a fully qualified HGV Trailer Technician with City & Guilds / NVQ level 3 in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair
• Double deck maintenance experience
• Welding experience is desirable
