Job summary

AECOM is offering an apprenticeship in Traffic Engineering within the Highways & Complete Streets Team in the UK. You’ll gain practical experience across the project lifecycle, learning from engineers and professionals while working towards a recognised qualification.

You’ll use industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, LinSig, TRANSYT, VISSIM and BIM tools on live projects, with progression toward greater responsibility and independent task delivery.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (Maths & English) at grade C/4 or above.
• Three A-Levels (or equivalent) including Maths and a physical science, for Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship.
• Interest in traffic/transport engineering and a career in the industry.
• Aptitude for technical software and engineering drawing (AutoCAD or 3D modelling).
• Basic MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design drawings, plans and documentation using CAD and design software.
• Contribute to traffic/highways and active travel schemes from concept to detailed design.
• Assist in collecting, analysing and interpreting traffic data.
• Support highway, street and traffic engineering design including signage/road markings.
• Assist with traffic management and traffic signal design activities.
• Participate in site visits, surveys and inspections.
