Job summary

Livingston branch is seeking an Internal Sales & Trade Counter professional to join their team. You’ll support both trade and retail customers on a daily basis, work at the trade counter, handle enquiries, process orders and quotations, and help customers find the right products while identifying opportunities to grow sales.

Qualifications

• Experience in a builders' merchant, trade counter or construction supply environment.
• Experience in an internal sales, trade counter or customer-facing sales role.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Confident dealing with both trade and retail customers.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to support the wider branch team.
• Knowledge of construction materials or merchanting would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Serving trade and retail customers on the trade counter.
• Handling customer enquiries by phone, email and in person.
• Processing customer orders and preparing quotations.
• Building strong relationships with regular trade customers.
• Following up quotations and identifying additional sales opportunities.
• Contacting existing and lapsed customers to generate business where appropriate.
• Liaising with suppliers and colleagues to ensure orders are fulfilled efficiently.
• Supporting the day-to-day running of a busy branch.
