Job summary

Arc Recruitment is seeking an experienced Trade Counter Sales professional to join a well-established business in the windows and doors sector. You will support trade customers, handle enquiries, process orders and quotations, and help deliver excellent service.

The ideal candidate will have prior trade counter or internal sales experience, strong communication skills, and a proactive, customer-focused approach to driving sales across building materials.

Qualifications

• Experience in trade counter/internal sales or similar customer-facing sales role.
• Experience in windows, doors, glazing, building materials or construction is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Confident, friendly and professional manner.
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Good IT and numeracy skills.
• Proactive approach and ability to work well under pressure.
• Genuine interest in developing customer relationships and driving sales.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers at the trade counter and over the telephone.
• Take and process customer orders accurately.
• Prepare quotations and provide product information.
• Build strong relationships with existing trade customers.
• Follow up enquiries and quotations to maximise sales opportunities.
• Handle customer queries and resolve issues professionally.
• Liaise with internal teams, suppliers and delivery departments.
• Promote additional products and services where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure orders are processed correctly.
• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the trade counter.
