Job summary

GAP Ltd. in Hull is seeking a Trade Counter Assistant/Driver to support daily trade counter operations and deliveries. You will assist customers in-person and over the phone, manage stock and orders, and ensure safe, timely transport of goods.

A full UK driving licence is essential. The role involves serving customers at the counter, processing sales, packing orders, and carrying out local deliveries using company vehicles.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence (≤6 points)
• Experience at trade counter, retail, warehouse or distribution
• Strong customer service skills and clear verbal communication
• Basic numeracy for cash handling and stock counting
• Ability to work independently and in a small team
• Physically fit to lift and carry heavy items
• Proficient with basic IT, email and stock/POS software
• Attention to detail and accurate orders/paperwork
• Can-do attitude and eagerness to learn

Responsibilities

• Serve trade and retail customers at the counter, process sales, check stock.
• Receive and unpack deliveries; label/store stock and rotate inventory.
• Prepare customer orders and pick lists for collection/delivery.
• Carry out local deliveries/collections using company vehicles; load/unload goods.
• Operate POS and process cash, card and account transactions.
• Maintain a clean, safe counter and yard area; basic housekeeping.
• Support stocktakes and cycle counts; report discrepancies.
• Provide phone/email support for enquiries and tracking.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures and vehicle checks.
