Job summary

GAP Ltd. in Gloucester is hiring a Trade Counter Assistant with driving duties. You will serve trade and retail customers at the counter, process sales, manage stock levels, and assist with deliveries.

The role requires a full UK manual driving licence and strong customer service skills. Applicants should be prepared to work independently and as part of a small team, with good numeracy for cash handling and stock checks.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence with a maximum of 6 penalty points.
• Experience at trade counter, retail, warehouse or distribution is desirable.
• Strong customer service skills and professional communication.
• Basic numeracy for cash handling and stock counting.
• Ability to work independently and in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Serve trade and retail customers at the counter, process sales and check stock.
• Receive, label and store deliveries; manage inventory and rotate stock.
• Prepare orders and pick lists for collection/delivery.
• Carry out local deliveries/collections using company vehicles; load/unload goods.
• Operate POS systems and process cash, card and account transactions.
• Maintain a clean, safe counter and yard; assist with stock takes and cycle counts.
• Provide phone and email support for inquiries and order tracking.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and vehicle checks before shifts.
