Job summary

General All-Purpose Plastics (Gap) Ltd in Norwich South is hiring a Trade Counter Assistant/Driver to support daily trade counter operations and deliveries. You will deliver excellent customer service in person and over the phone, manage stock and orders, and ensure safe, timely transportation of goods.

A full UK driving licence is required, with experience in retail or warehouse environments preferred. The role includes stock management, order preparation, POS transactions, and helping with

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Experience at trade counter, retail, warehouse or distribution desirable.
• Strong customer service and clear communication.
• Basic numeracy for cash handling.
• Ability to work independently and in a small team.
• Physically fit to lift heavy items per manual handling guidance.
• Proficient with IT systems, email, stock control/POS software.
• Can-do attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Serve trade and retail customers at the trade counter and process sales.
• Receive deliveries, unpack, label and store stock, rotate inventory.
• Prepare and pick customer orders for collection and delivery.
• Carry out local deliveries and collections using company vehicles.
• Operate POS systems and process cash, card, and account transactions.
• Maintain a clean, safe counter and yard area and dispose of waste.
• Support stocktakes and cycle counts and report discrepancies.
• Provide phone and email support for inquiries and tracking.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and vehicle checks before shifts.
