Qualifications

• Experience in telesales or counter sales in a customer-facing role.
• Experience with timber, fencing, building materials, or builders’ merchants is essential.
• Strong telephone and face-to-face communication skills.
• Customer-focused approach with ability to build relationships.
• Accurate handling of orders, quotations and customer information.
• Comfort with prices and product details; good numeracy.
• Ability to manage multiple enquiries in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer enquiries by phone and in person with accurate product information.
• Build relationships with new and existing customers through professional service.
• Identify requirements and recommend suitable products and solutions.
• Prepare quotations, process orders and follow up on enquiries and sales opportunities.
• Enter customer and order details into branch systems and maintain records.
• Check availability, pricing and delivery information; liaise with colleagues as needed.
• Support counter sales and assist customers with product selection and transactions.
• Resolve customer questions promptly; refer complex issues to the right colleague.
• Work with branch team to meet service standards and sales targets.
• Maintain a professional, welcoming counter area and support branch operations.
