Job summary

Compass Community Schools seeks a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support teachers in a diverse SEMH setting, delivering targeted sessions to individuals and small groups. You will help manage classroom resources, accompany pupils on trips, and engage in meaningful activities that promote safety and engagement.

Role requires resilience, flexibility and a non-judgmental approach, with ongoing therapeutic training and supervision provided. DBS checks and safeguarding are integral to the role.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in the classroom
• Work with children 1:1 or in small groups
• Manage classroom resources
• Take children on trips and visits
• Share lunch with children who struggle socially
• Manage heightened behaviours and keep children safe
• Participate in therapy sessions or reflect on difficult periods
