Compass Community Schools seeks a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support teachers in the classroom and work with children with SEMH and SEND needs. You will assist with small group sessions, 1:1 support, and help deliver tailored learning activities.

You will contribute to safeguarding, participate in curriculum development, and help create engaging displays and practical experiments. The role emphasizes resilience, adaptability, and compassionate communication.

Responsibilities

• supporting teachers in the classroom
• working with children 1:1 or delivering sessions with small groups of students
• managing classroom resources
• taking children on trips and visits
• having their lunch with children who struggle socially
• managing heightened behaviours and keeping children safe
