Job summary

Compass Community Schools are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support children with SEMH and SEND. You will work with individuals and small groups, assist with learning activities, manage resources, and participate in trips and classroom activities.

Strong communication, resilience and a calm, non-judgemental approach are essential. Training opportunities and safeguarding commitments accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to individual pupils' needs.
• Excellent behaviour management to support pupils with SEMH needs.
• Proficiency in English and Maths is beneficial for supporting learning.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning in classrooms and groups.
• Work with children 1:1 or in small groups to deliver sessions.
• Manage classroom resources to aid learning.
• Take children on educational trips and visits.
• Share lunch with students who struggle socially and participate in activities.
