Job summary

Compass Community is seeking Teaching Assistants to support children with SEMH and SEND in our school. The role involves working 1:1 or in small groups, managing resources, and engaging in therapeutic training as part of a trauma-informed approach.

You will help create a safe, engaging learning environment, build displays, and participate in trips and extracurricular activities while receiving regular supervision and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have good English and Maths basics.
• Strong behaviour management skills and excellent communication.
• Be resilient, persistent and solution focused when supporting pupils.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning.
• Work with children 1:1 or in small groups.
• Manage classroom resources.
• Take children on educational trips and visits.
• Have lunch with children who struggle socially.
• Create displays that support learning and the learning environment.
• Celebrate success and contribute to the curriculum and extra-curricular activities.
