Job summary

Compass Community is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support learning for pupils with SEMH and SEND needs. You will work 1:1 or in small groups, manage resources, assist with trips, and help create engaging learning environments while promoting social and academic progress.

We prioritise therapeutic training, robust supervision, and collaboration with educators and families to secure positive outcomes for every child.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH and challenging behaviours.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Patient and resilient with flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning in daily activities for pupils.
• Work with children 1:1 or in small groups.
• Manage classroom resources and prepare displays.
• Take children on educational trips and visits.
• Uphold strong behaviour management during heightened behaviours.
• Create and play educational games to develop social skills.
