Job summary

NHS Chelmsford-based Central Booking Office is seeking an enthusiastic Patient Access Officer to support the theatre scheduling team across multiple specialties, ensuring timely patient pathways from referral to treatment.

You will handle bookings, update Lorenzo and related systems, and communicate with consultants, clinical teams, GPs and patients, while maintaining accurate records and demonstrating NHS values.

Qualifications

• Experience in NHS or private sector preferred.
• Good general education in English and maths.
• Knowledge of Lorenzo is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Book theatre lists across multiple specialties in the central booking office.
• Support the service by covering annual leave and sickness within the department.
• Ensure patient details are entered and updated on Lorenzo and Theatreman.
• Communicate effectively with Consultants, clinical teams, patients and GPs.
• Uphold Trust values and contribute to service development.
