Job summary

AWD online is seeking an Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager to own a defined territory, win new business and grow established customer relationships across Portsmouth and surrounding areas. You will combine field-based engagement with pipeline development, delivering practical, commercially effective solutions.

You’ll contact contractors, merchants and developers, negotiate quotations and work with internal teams to maximise sales and margin.

Qualifications

• Previous area/territory sales or business development experience.
• Experience in insulation, drylining, construction or building materials.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of sales performance, margin and business development across the designated area.
• Develop existing customer relationships and identify opportunities for additional business.
• Proactively identify, approach and win new customers while maintaining a healthy sales pipeline.
• Visit customers, understand requirements and recommend practical, commercially effective product solutions.
• Build strong relationships with contractors, merchants, developers and other construction professionals.
• Prepare and negotiate commercially competitive, profitable quotations and manage opportunities through to completion.
• Work closely with internal teams and suppliers to deliver excellent customer service.
• Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, product developments and changing customer requirements.
