Job summary

Howdens Joinery is seeking a Territory Sales Representative to grow local customer accounts across your defined area. This field-based role focuses on winning new business, expanding the trade base, and building lasting partnerships with depot teams and customers.

You’ll be responsible for proactive outreach, account development, and driving sustained growth through strong relationships, with autonomy to manage your workload and deliver results.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of winning new business or working in a target-driven sales role.
• Confident engaging trade customers from first conversation.
• Self-motivated, resilient with a drive to succeed.
• Ability to build product and service knowledge in joinery and hardware.
• Strong organisation skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Win new business by proactively approaching prospective customers and converting opportunities into new accounts.
• Build and grow the account base across your territory, supporting each depot’s performance.
• Introduce new customers to the Howdens model, clearly articulating how it works and why it delivers.
• Collaborate with depot teams to build account spend and drive more frequent trading.
• Build strong, lasting relationships with both new and existing account holders.
• Take ownership of customer enquiries, managing them professionally from first contact through to resolution.
• Play an active role in team meetings, contributing insight, performance updates, and ideas.
• Keep data accurate and up to date, ensuring visibility across your activity and pipeline.
• Work safely and in line with Health & Safety standards.
