Thomas Franks Ltd. in Tonbridge seeks a Second Chef to join a busy school catering team. The role runs Monday to Friday, 7.15am–2.45pm, with a January start and a 37.5-hour week. The position offers a term-time, permanent contract with £18 per hour and free parking on site.

Applicants should be capable of preparing meals, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality service in a school setting. DBS checks and Right to Work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service or kitchen environments preferred.
• Good English language skills (verbal and written).
• Food hygiene knowledge and standards aligned with industry requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food service areas for daily meals in line with service standards.
• Ensure prompt service of meals and maintenance of quality throughout service.
• Follow methods of preparation and presentation as set by company.
• Set up, serve, clear, and store food, beverages, and equipment for daily service.
• Prepare food for sale following hygiene and safety practices.
• Restock stocks and anticipate customer needs during service.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and front-of-house areas at shift end.
• Attend meetings and training as required.
