Job summary

University of Bristol Source Catering is seeking a part-time Kitchen Porter to support both kitchen and front-of-house teams, ensuring a clean, efficient wash-up area and smooth service for students and staff.

The position is term-time only, 25 hours per week across 34 weeks, with a pro-rata salary of £24,479 per annum. On-site at Campus Division - Catering & Events Service, with on-the-job training and basic food hygiene course within six months.

Qualifications

• No specific qualifications required as on the job training will be provided.
• You will be required to satisfactorily complete a basic food hygiene course within six months.
• A good basic standard of literacy and numeracy.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an organised and clean wash up cycle of crockery, cutlery, pans and other goods, ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and tidy.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment.
• Keep the stores area clean and assist with receiving and checking goods inwards, including cleaning and waste collation of external areas.
• Assist under supervision with simple food preparation and service of food.
