Job summary

Raven Housing Trust is seeking a Welfare Officer to help vulnerable residents sustain their tenancy, improve wellbeing, and live independently. This hybrid role covers Croydon, Brighton and Sutton, with regular travel requirements.

You will work closely with partner agencies, manage a caseload, and advocate for residents while maintaining accurate records to deliver high-quality services in a supportive, inclusive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of welfare, tenancy sustainment, and safeguarding support.
• Identify and assess risks; carry out welfare visits and safeguarding interventions.
• Develop practical support plans and coordinate services to achieve positive outcomes.
• Provide hands-on support to customers facing complex challenges (domestic abuse, health, disability, substance misuse, social isolation).
• Collaborate with external agencies and advocate for customers to ensure appropriate support.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to effective case management and service delivery.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring our teams have the tools, knowledge, and processes they need to deliver a high-quality service. You'll provide tailored support to vulnerable customers, helping them sustain their tenancy, improve their wellbeing, and live independently. Working closely with colleagues and partner agencies, you will:

• Manage a caseload of customers requiring welfare, tenancy sustainment, and safeguarding support.
• Identify and assess risks, carrying out welfare visits and safeguarding interventions where required.
• Develop practical support plans and coordinate services to achieve positive outcomes.
• Provide hands-on support to customers facing complex challenges, including those relating to domestic abuse, health, disability, substance misuse, or social isolation.
• Work collaboratively with external agencies, advocating on behalf of customers to ensure appropriate support is in place.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to effective case management and service delivery.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting vulnerable people and can build positive relationships in challenging situations. You will:

• Have experience working with vulnerable people and supporting positive outcomes.
• Understand safeguarding responsibilities and tenancy sustainment principles.
• Be confident managing complex situations and advocating on behalf of residents.
• Have experience working with partner agencies such as social services, healthcare providers, and local authorities.
• Possess strong communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel across the region.
