Job description

Job Title: Project Officer (Key Worker)

Salary: £25,407

Contract: Permanent

Location: St Helens

Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week on a 3 week rolling rota

So…. What is this role exactly?

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Project Officer at Ravenhead Foyer. Ravenhead Foyer is a supported housing project for 32 young people aged 16-25 and offers them the opportunity to make progress in their lives, to build resilience, develop skills and meet their aspirations.

As a Project Officer, you will play a key role in supporting residents to help them achieve their goals, develop independent living and life skills and build excellent relationships with residents, colleagues and professionals from external agencies.

Ravenhead Foyer is accredited with the Foyer Federation meaning we take an asset-based approach, called Advantaged Thinking, in all the work we do; encouraging young people to aim high, dream big and fulfil their ambitions.

We want to recruit a Project Officer as passionate about this as us.

What will my working week look like?

Project Officers work on a 3 week rolling rota - Week A: 8am-4pm Week B: 11am-7pm Week C: 12noon-8pm, and are part of a multidisciplinary team on site supporting the young people who can live with us for a maximum of 2 years. The role includes some element of lone working. In addition, there is opportunity in the future for potential hours outside Monday to Friday. Every day is different; you could be delivering 121 support sessions on life skills, reviewing an action plan, supporting a young person to a medical appointment, contributing to a multi-agency meeting or facilitating group activities as part of the learning programme.

What will I be responsible for doing?

First and foremost, you will be providing key worker support to our young people. Working through support and action plans with them, in order for them to develop the life skills necessary to move on and live independently in the community.

And what would make me stand out from the crowd?
  • An ability to engage with a range of young people
  • A tenacity in seeking the best outcomes for young people
  • Ideally you will be innovative and creative in your ways of working
  • Resilient and flexible in dealing with others
  • This role is really suited to someone who likes to manage their own diary and caseload, and enjoys interacting with lots of people on a daily basis.
