Job summary

Milton Keynes City Council is seeking a Site-Based Leader to manage the Tenancy Sustainment Service, supporting tenants at risk of losing their home. The role requires leading a team, ensuring lawful decisions, and driving improved outcomes through data-driven oversight.

The ideal candidate will have a housing qualification and experience with complex needs, rent arrears, and safeguarding, able to travel between locations with a UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Chartered Institute of Housing Level 4 qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Understanding of housing legislation and safeguarding.
• Experience in supporting tenants with complex needs (e.g., rent arrears, ASB, mental health).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Tenancy Sustainment Service to deliver timely interventions for tenants at risk of losing their home.
• Oversee complex and high‑risk cases with proportionate, person‑centred, legally compliant decisions.
• Develop and coach Tenancy Sustainment Officers; supervise and manage performance.
