Job summary

Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting a Homelessness Prevention Officer to work directly with people who rough sleep or are at risk of rough sleeping. You will engage with individuals, provide tenancy support, and help them access rehousing options within Calderdale.

Role requires flexible hours, a full driving licence, and a clear DBS check. Right to work in the UK must be evidenced. Office-based with outreach across the borough.

Qualifications

• Experience of homelessness prevention or tenancy support work.
• Knowledge of rehousing options for homeless households in Calderdale.
• Experience with complex needs individuals.
• Full driving licence and use of a car is essential; DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Work with rough sleepers and at-risk individuals to prevent homelessness.
• Conduct outreach across Calderdale and assist with verification checks.
• Support late-night counts and annual homelessness counts as required.
