Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking an Accommodation Officer to join the team in Shaftesbury. The role is full-time, on site, at a six-bedroom temporary accommodation project, focusing on proactive housing management and resident support.

The successful candidate will help residents overcome barriers to secure accommodation, assist with incomes and benefits, and conduct scheme inspections and health and safety tests. Experience in housing or homelessness services is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role (supported housing, social housing, homelessness services, or care setting).
• Strong customer service with ability to build trust and rapport.
• Knowledge of welfare benefits and financial inclusion support.
• Ability to work with partner organisations and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive housing management for residents in temporary accommodation.
• Assist residents with income/benefits, personal housing plans, rent accounts and tenancy issues.
• Carry out regular scheme inspections and health & safety tests.
• Collaborate with housing teams and external agencies to support residents.
