Job summary

Sovereign Network Group is seeking a Temporary Accommodation Officer to join our team in Shaftesbury. The role is based on-site at our 6-bedroom temporary accommodation project, with daily resident support and ongoing housing management responsibilities.

You will help residents overcome barriers to secure permanent housing, assist with income and benefits, personal housing plans, and rent accounts, and perform regular scheme inspections and health and safety checks.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role in supported housing, social housing, homelessness services or care setting.
• Knowledge of tenancy management is helpful but not essential at appointment, and safeguarding experience is desirable.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
• Knowledge of welfare benefits and financial inclusion support is beneficial.
• Ability to work collaboratively with partner organisations and external agencies.
• Ability to work as part of a housing team while also operating independently.

Temporary Accommodation Officer to join our team in Shaftesbury.

This is a full-time permanent role working in our temporary homeless accommodation schemes principally based at our 6 bedroom Temporary Accommodation project in Shaftesbury.

You'll need to be able to work on site every day to provide support for our residents.

Temporary Accommodation Officers provide an enhanced, proactive housing management service for customers in our temporary homeless accommodation.

As a Temporary Accommodation Officer you'll help our residents overcome barriers and prepare for more secure accommodation. This may include assistance with income and benefits, personal housing plans, rent accounts and resolving tenancy issues and other barriers to seeking permanent accommodation.

You'll also be responsible for carrying out regular scheme inspections and undertaking health and safety tests.

What we're looking for

• Experience of working in a similar role. This could be a supported housing, social housing, homelessness services or a care setting.
• A good knowledge of tenancy management would be preferred but not essential at appointment, resident support and safeguarding

You’ll need a full UK driver's license and your own transport.
